Who runs this site

underwaterarcade.xyz is an independent website publishing original browser games and editorial content about them. For any privacy question, or to request information about data held about you, contact editor@underwaterarcade.xyz.

Information stored on your device

The site uses your browser's local storage — not cookies — to remember four things:

• Best and last scores for each game, under keys beginning ua:best: and ua:last:.
• Favourite games, under ua:favorites.
• Recently played games and when you played them, under ua:recent.

This data stays on your device. It is not transmitted to this site, to us, or to anyone else — the games have no network code at all, which you can verify by opening your browser's network panel while playing. Because it is local, it is also per-browser and per-device: your scores will not follow you to another computer, private browsing windows usually discard the data when closed, and clearing site data removes it permanently.

You can delete it at any time through your browser's "clear site data" or "clear browsing data" controls, without affecting the games themselves.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. The cookie policy covers this in more detail, including which third-party cookies would appear if advertising were introduced.

Analytics

No analytics or measurement provider is loaded on this site at present. There is a commented placeholder in the page template marking where such a script would go, and it is empty.

If analytics is added in future, this section will be updated first to name the provider, describe what it collects, and explain how to opt out.

Advertising

No advertising network is currently loaded. The bordered placeholder boxes in the layout reserve space for future advertising units; they contain no advertising code and make no network requests.

If display advertising — for example Google AdSense — is introduced, third-party advertising vendors may set cookies or use similar technologies to serve and measure ads, potentially including personalised advertising based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Before any of that goes live, this page and the cookie policy will be updated to name the vendor, and where the law requires it, an appropriate consent mechanism will be presented.

Contact form

The contact form on this site is a front end only. Because the site is static HTML with no server, submitting it does not transmit or store anything. If you email us instead, we receive your email address and whatever you write, hold it only as long as needed to reply, and do not add it to any mailing list.

Third-party services

This site loads no third-party scripts, fonts, frameworks, trackers, embeds or CDN assets. Every file — CSS, JavaScript, images, game code — is served from this domain. That is a deliberate choice: it keeps the pages fast and means no third party can observe your visit through content on our pages.

Some pages link out to external sources such as NOAA, MDN Web Docs or W3C. Following one of those links takes you to a site with its own privacy policy, which governs from that point.

Server logs

Like virtually every website, the hosting provider serving these files may record standard access logs — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent — for security and operational purposes. These are generated by the host, not by this site's code, and are retained according to the host's own policy.

Children

This site is suitable for general audiences and contains no violent content, no purchases and no user accounts. It is not directed at children under 13, does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, and has no mechanism to do so.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of personal data about you, and to object to certain processing.

In practice this site holds almost nothing to which those rights could apply: it stores no personal data on any server, operates no database, and the game data described above is on your device and under your control. If you have emailed us, you can ask us to delete that correspondence at any time by writing to editor@underwaterarcade.xyz.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date below changes with it. Material changes — particularly the introduction of analytics or advertising — will be made to this page before the change goes live on the site.
